What is LivU, in one line?

A live 1v1 video, voice or text chat for meeting new people, right in your browser, free to start and with no sign-up for your first calls.

01// one sentence first

What is LivU, in plain words?

LivU is a website for meeting new people on live 1v1 video, voice or text chat. Open livuapp.online, tap Start match, and LivU connects you to a single stranger who tapped at about the same second. That is the core of it. Follows, gifts, translation and bonus matches are all extras around that single chat, there to help it begin and to help it carry on.

If you have used a random video chat before, LivU will feel familiar. The differences are in the details: every call is strictly one to one, you can start without an account, messages can be translated, and the people you enjoy talking to can be followed so you find them again.

02// how does livu work, in order

One visit, start to finish

Here is the whole journey, in the order it actually happens the first time you visit.

  1. 01

    A guest session opens

The moment the page loads, LivU sets up a guest session for you. No email, password or phone number is needed to begin.

  2. 02

    You pick a mode

Video is the default. Voice keeps your camera off, text keeps camera and microphone off. You can change it before every match.

  3. 03

    The matcher pairs you

Press Start match and LivU looks for one person who is waiting right then. Matching is random, so the next face could be anywhere.

  4. 04

    You talk, skip or follow

Inside the call you can translate a message, send a gift, follow the person, skip to someone new, or report and block.

  5. 05

    You keep the good ones

People you follow stay in your list after the call, and you can message them later without relying on the random matcher.

03// the parts people ask about

Matching, translation and follows

Matching is random by design. LivU does not ask you to fill in a profile so an algorithm can pick for you; it simply connects two people who both pressed start. Evenings in America and Europe are the busiest, so matches come fastest then, but someone is online at most hours.

Translation is built into the chat. When a message arrives in a language you do not read, tap translate and it appears in your own. It works on text, which is enough to get most first conversations over the language gap.

Follows turn a good call into a friendship. Following someone keeps them in your list, and you can say hi again another day. Think of it as the LivU version of a friend request, minus any fee.

04// watching, not broadcasting

The Live tab

Next to the online list there is a Live tab showing hosts who are streaming right now. You can drop into a stream to watch, write in the room chat and send a gift, and if you would like a private conversation, start a 1v1 video call with the host from inside the room. You cannot broadcast your own stream on LivU; the Live tab is for watching and then talking one to one.

05// where free stops

The free part, then coins

New visitors get welcome matches for free. Beyond those, a Reward Center perched above the match button tops up your free matches during the time you spend online, more than once a day. When free matches run out, more matching uses coins, as do gifts and a few longer sessions. Exact amounts change over time, so the LivU free page explains the rules rather than quoting numbers that would go stale.

06// how to work for livu

Looking for a job with LivU?

Some people search for how to work for LivU, hoping to earn as a host. This website does not recruit hosts or offer paid work, and we never ask anyone to pay a fee to get a job. Messages promising easy money for joining LivU as a streamer, especially ones that want a deposit or your account password, are scams. If you receive one, report it through the contact page.
